Stay at Home Safely Independent Initiative Program

Scranton Lackawanna Human Development Agency’s Weatherization Department is an independent sub-contractor for Lackawanna County Area on Aging to provide Home Modification services to Lackawanna County eligible individuals 60 years and older.  Home Modification Services include adaptations and modifications, primarily but not limited to ramps and installation of grab bars, made to improve safety, increase functioning, and to assist in the provision of care to a consumer in his/her home. Most jobs include ramps, minimal step and porch repair to ensure safe entry/exit into the residence, grab bar installation, stair-glides and other minor repairs. 

 

A consumer must be living in Lackawanna County and be referred from the Area on Aging to be eligible for our services under this program.
