Rise and Ride Program

How can it help?

The Rise and Ride Program is intended to aid individuals struggling with transportation to work and work-related appointments (pre-employment/interviews). You must be working or recently hired with an offer letter to qualify for the Rise and Ride Program. The Rise and Ride program is a limited time assistance program providing rides for up to a 2-month period.

Driving

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THE PROGRAM?

  • 18 years of age

  • Valid photo ID

  • Lackawanna County Resident

  • An applicant’s income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

  • Verification that the applicant works a minimum of 21 hours per week, or a formal offer letter from a future employer documenting the expected hourly wage.


PLEASE NOTE: Only completed applications will be reviewed. Please ensure that the application and supporting documentation is submitted in a complete and final format.


ASSISTANCE PROVIDED ON YOUR BEHALF

  • Rides to the following

    • Employment & Employment-Related Appointments

    • Medical appointments for those participating in ACE NEPA’S Workforce Program and Veterans


SERVICE AVAILABILITY: Drivers are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.


BUS PASSES are available for destinations on bus routes.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO APPLY?
All requested documentation must be fully completed, with the necessary supporting documents attached.


If an applicant is unable to provide documentation via email, please call the Workforce Initiative/Rise and Ride Program (570-558-8806) to schedule an appointment.
